Our software monitors all new vehicle movement in the United States, including new car trade activity. For this New Vehicle Weekly Trade Activity report, we take our data set and hone in on the most popular vehicles traded this past week among America’s three largest Auto Groups:

  • AutoNation Inc.
  • Penske Automotive Group Inc.
  • Lithia Motors Inc.

This past week compact crossover sport utility vehicles dominated the dealer-to-dealer trades among America’s largest auto groups. Ford made up 12.6% of all traded vehicles, however, imports dominated the top traded vehicles in our list below.

2022 BMW X3 – 30i

The BMW X3 30i was first on the list this week and comes in rear and all-wheel drive packages. Both configurations have a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine. The X3 is considered a compact luxury crossover sport utility vehicle, and is marketed as a Sports Activity Vehicle by BMW.


2021 Nissan Rogue – SV

The Nissan Rogue, made it’s way onto our list for the first time, with its SV trim level. This is one step above the Rogue’s entry level trim package and features intelligent forward collision warning and an 8″ touch-screen display.


2021 Mazda CX-5 – Grand Touring

The Mazda CX-5, Grand Touring trim level rounds out this week’s list of top traded makes, models, and trims for the second week in a row. The Grand Touring trim level is one of the CX-5’s upper tier trim levels and comes with  a 5 year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
