Our new car dealer-to-dealer trade price took a gigantic leap this past month. On average, franchise dealerships selling new car inventory to other franchise dealerships in the month of July received $1,032 per unit over invoice. The July Index was based on 665 units sold through Dealer Trade Network.

70% of the traded units that made up this index were Chevrolet, Toyota, Nissan, Jeep, and Kia models.

Inventory Remains Steady

New car inventory stayed at over 2M units for the second month in a row. However, not all manufacturers have been able to maintain a healthy supply of vehicles and that led to a climb in the monthly trade index.
